Achievement and Happiness the 80/20
Way
by Rasheed Ali
If there was ever a principle that was responsible for the most
happiness and achievement in the world, it would be the 80/20 Principle.
The 80/20 Principle or Pareto Principle was discovered in 1897
by an Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto while he was searching for
patterns of wealth and income in England.
What he found was that 80 percent of the wealth was enjoyed by
only 20 percent of the population. Additionally, it was consistent
in different countries and in different times.
This has been found in present day as well and in almost any activity
that we perform, business or otherwise.
In other words, . . .

Question:
Hi I have just read the article on rejection
and agree with what you say I have a question
on your answer "Take the negativity, conquer it
with indifference, and use it to achieve your goal,
wealth, health and happiness"
What you say is clear but doing it is the hard
part and you don't give any directions on how to?
Geoff
Answer:
Geoff,
Indifference is all about attitude.
The attitude starts in the mind and reflects on
the outside as not caring what others have
to say regarding your progress or beliefs.
It doesn't matter whether it is a new business
venture or your own self education.
Not everyone will agree. SO WHAT!
Look at Bill Gates. How many people do you think
like him...? Maybe less than 50% right?
You've heard the stories from both sides about
how great he is or how bad he is.
In the end who cares! He sure doesn't.
He's still the wealthiest man
in the world and he's changed the way the world
communicates and works.
Quoting Jay Abraham -
"It's better to be Loved OR
Hated, Not Tolerated."
It works in business and it works in life.
Much of what we have today would not be possible
if it were not for indifference.
Science, Mathematics, Quantum Physics, the Internet,
and the list goes on and on...
OH and my favorite...Bottled Water!
What do you think people told the person that
commercialized water in a bottle? ;-P
Although indifference is showing lack of
caring or emotion, it also shows your
commitment to your beliefs and is a signal of
how successful you will be.
My coaching clients all develop this attitude
when being mentored by me.
I wouldn't coach them otherwise.
