Can you hear the cash flowing in and out of bank accounts
everywhere?
You're probably wondering what the HECK does that have to do with
pain right?
Picture this
Recently I witnessed the birth of my baby girl and the pain my wife
endured for hours while being induced into labor.
It was a Wednesday at 8PM. We arrived at the hospital and they
immediately prepped her.
An hour later they began giving her Pitocin to bring on
contractions and make her cervix dilate from 2 cm to 10 cm.
8 hours later, no change. So they manually stretched her to a
little over 3cm.
NOT cool, when I saw her tears and the anguish she was in while
trying to manage the pain I didn't know what to do.
Another 8 hours later and she was only about 5 cm and feeling the
pain of the contractions.
The nurse got the operating room prepped and expected a cesarean
section order by her doctor.
The doctor told them to wait a while she'll come along.
So we waited another 12 hours and to our surprise, STILL only 5 cm!
Uh-Oh I thought, she's going under the knife for sure. I was
terrified at the thought of having someone cut into my sweet wife.
The doctor's response was a SHOCKING, Give her
more time.
Well not being certain what to think, I said, this is ridiculous!
How can they put her and our baby through this? Then I was told, it
is better for both mother and baby.
“Better eh, well okay. I began to focus on my own mind, as
difficult as it was to do on lack of sleep and stress.
I knew that there would be a positive outcome but I had to maintain
my internal balance and reflect only comforting and calm thoughts to
my wife.
I thought that there must be some purpose to this pain.
The epidural they gave her was wearing off and apparently did
nothing to help with bringing the baby along.
At the 34th hour they examined her again and she was still the
same. At this point even my wife was fed up. So while we waited for
the doctor's response, my wife went through some of the most
excruciating pain I've ever seen.
Plus they were having a hard time locating the Anesthesiologist so
she remained in pain for the better part of an hour.
At each contraction, the baby's heart rate dropped, and fear began
to creep into my heart.
I asked the very experienced nurse attending her, What's going on
with the baby? Is she okay?
With a chuckle she replied, Mr. Ali I think your baby is ready to
come?
Of course I found nothing funny about my daughter's heart rate
dropping but she told me, I think your wife is pretty close to 9 cm
dilated.
NO Way I said. They only just checked
her an hour ago and she was still 5 cm.
What the hell is wrong with these people, I thought as my wife
cried tears that made me want to strangle these people.
(Hey I'm human, what did you expect?)
So they called for an attending doctor to check her again.

** NOTE: "I want to make more money" is not a problem, it's a
goal. A poorly stated one but none the less a goal.**
